Located on a quiet, residential street just a short walk from Santa Monica's famous beach, Third Street Promenade and Santa Monica Pier, the Cal Mar Suites feel like a home away from home. The two-story hotel has 36 suites, each with a bedroom, large living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen and shower/bath. There are also telephones (no data ports), televisions, daily maid service, a laundry facility, heated outdoor pool and free guest parking. There's no room service, but there are plenty of restaurants in the area who will deliver. The atmosphere is casual, informal and friendly. -- Cathy Tamkin
