An unassuming, but elegant little inn right on the beach in the heart of Malibu, the Casa Malibu Inn caters to a crowd that dislike the trendy and well-publicized hotels that Los Angeles is famous for. This small courtyard building has cozy, well-appointed rooms; some with fireplaces, Jacuzzi bathtubs and ocean front balconies. Its a great escape for a romantic weekend -- sleeping late, hearing the waves crash outside while sitting by a warm fire, drinking wine. Sounds nice, huh? No pool, but the ocean is mere steps away. The charming tropically landscaped garden and sunny brick deck are perfect for spending the day doing absolutely nothing. Close to restaurants and shops, as well as some superb Malibu beaches and hikes. -- Blair Mastbaum
