The SceneHaving left its reliable but well-worn Cahuenga location, this famous jazz bar now complements its A-list acts with elegant ambience and a state-of-the-art sound system. Other new touches include orange lanterns and soft spotlights suspended from the iron-grid ceiling. Upscale sophisticates venture here for wining, dining and jazz appreciation. The DrawAt its original location, the club hosted famous acts like Dizzy Gillespie and Chick Corea. Things are no different on Sunset, where smooth-jazz favorites like David Sanborn and former Miles Davis bassist Marcus Miller have already appeared. Every seat in the house offers a clear view of the action, be it a side-on-view stool at the brightly lit bar, or one of the many central tables or cozy booths in the upscale restaurant section. Stage-front seats offer the most bragging rights--performers often descend post-show to personally greet fans.

crap in every way possible
By rabidesigns on 09/17/2005
the food sucks, the hosts are rude, i wasn't that impressed with the music any time i went (numerous), AND i live in the neighborhood, and they thought they could get away with opening without soundproofing the place (no kidding!) and even the valet service is stinky--show ends at 12, and they lock the lot at 11? wtf?

This is BAD! BAD! VERY BAD!
By townlaw on 06/25/2005
1. There is a long wait to get in. (30 minutes) 2. A fellow like the "soup Nazi" seats you..big jerk. 3. The food in garbage. 4. Service is frantic and poor. Can't get a second drink. 5. They lock the exits so you can't get out at the end of show, and there is one line to the parking garage which you MUST use EVEN if you did not use the garage. Time Approx. 45 minutes. 6. The place appears to be a fire trap with the exits locked from the inside. 7. We should send terrorists here for torture.

The atmosphere is terrific. You don't even feel like you are in LA. It's quite different than any other club in LA. You get to sit very close to the performers and watch them play.
