Combining the world of film, food and nightlife, CineSpace attempts to reinvent the way Hollywood sees its movies. Located just above the swanky Ivar, one of Hollywood's foremost dance clubs, the multifaceted locale is done up in translucent metals, bleached Scandinavian woods and state-of-the-art electronics. Red tones and sleek lines set the mood in the street-facing dining room, surrounded by a bar and lounge that give industry types a perfect entertainment address. Dining at CineSpace is an experience in itself, with appetizers and entrees that tempt the image-conscious. Small bites like calamari, lobster latkes and seafood bisque entice the palate as readily as main-dish favorites like the duck in red wine sauce and braised lamb chops. For more casual concoctions try the bar, which offers all of the restaurant's appetizers in addition to its selection of premium drinks and wines. The bartenders mix up a great martini along with specials such as the signature CineSpace Cosmo. A great break from the usual nightlife options, CineSpace teaches Tinseltown a thing or two about movies after dark.

Failure
By trudestiny2act on 03/26/2006
To being with, I love the space. I also love the DJ. Me and my crew got there HELLA before 11 and let the bouncers know we were on the guest list. They informed us, they had closed the list early and we'd all have to pay the full $20 cover. I asked if I could slip up and talk to my friend the DJ. I did. the club was NOT EVEN FULL. There was literally no one in the main space -- only the lobby/bar. Suffice to say, we just bounced. But it was a failure on the part of Cine-Space. We coulda and woulda made that club hot. End of the story.

Hollywood Hell

I can't believe people wait in line to get into this place. I suppose I was lucky, my friend made dinner reservations so I was able to experience horrible food at bloated prices. My Chinese Chicken Salad was basically a big plate of cole slaw with some mandarin oranges and a bit of chicken ($12). My friend's eggplant pizza was also pretty bad. If you enjoy trendy, plastic Hollywood people, bad food and overpriced drinks (moreso than other clubs..my shot of Baileys was $8), then this is the place for you. By the way, the valet service on Cosmo took 45 minutes (no joke) to get my car.
