Rate and Write a Review Trailer-chic meets budget hospitality as the Farmer's Daughter opens her bedroom to Los Angeles lodgers. A motel institution, the Farmer's Daughter once provoked passersby with a marquee sign blaring Christian inspirational messages. With the invasion of The Grove across the street and the subsequent SUV army that has swarmed the area, the motel now has become a martini lounge and getaway for the budget-chic and directly competes with the Avalon and Standard. While the inconspicuous lobby welcomes the eye with rich woods and crisp glass lines leading to the main pool area and restaurant, the rooms beam with white-trash flair, as an overabundance of plaid, denim and pine hurt the retinas of those with any sophistication. Minimalist furniture gives the rooms a modern vibe that is offset by awkward desks and chairs that look like the came out of a Fairfax dumpster. Given the lack of amenities, the location doesn't really compensate for the lack style with lower prices, as rooms run still around $100, which is the same as The Standard, but without the city views and Sunset location
