Little Temple   

In an effort to make Silverlake feel even more East, the beloved Garage has fallen to a new owner, a new name and a Far East theme. The owners of Santa Monica's Temple Bar revive the Buddhist theme in hopes of attracting their old rocker fans as well as the growing contingent of landowning yuppies. The interior is vibrant and exaggerated with large-scale themes like statuaries, baroque detailing and dark teak woods. The bar and overall layout is similar to the former Garage, with a main stage area and dance floor still predominantly positioned. What seems to be replaced, however, is the booking staff of Garage that filled the events calendar with clubs like Bar That Sucks and Tigermask. Nowadays the sound is more funk and groove with echoes of Rhythm Room and beach bands a little more inland for the night. Reflecting the changing dynamic of LA's eastside, the Garage is converted to a Sunset version of feng shui partying.
