Though this famous Texas-based department store has been nicknamed "Needless Markup," you won't necessarily find merchandise more expensive here than it is elsewhere-it's just that Neiman's carries more exclusive high-end items. The standard departments (women's wear, menswear, children's wear, cosmetics, lingerie and housewares) are unsurprising but reasonably well-stocked. The best departments are the small ones that feature items like Kiehl's pharmaceutical products. Special mention should be made of Neiman's sprawling women's shoe department, fine chocolate counter, and the Estee Lauder Day Spa in the basement. In the fourth-floor men's department, shoppers can take advantage of the new Martini Bar, or lunch in the Mariposa cafe. The store's Last Call sales are pandemonium, with frantic customers pressing their noses to the glass doors up to an hour before opening.
