The PCH Club is a casual, sometime kitschy, yet always friendly bar and nightclub located on Pacific Coast Highway just south of 7th Street in Long Beach. Located in the Best Western Golden Sails Hotel, many guests are initially put off by its less than insider location. Once they enter, guests are treated to a smorgasbord of groovy lounge ambiance, seating areas, dancing and entertainment seven nights a week. As visitors pass through the large entry, the interior surprises guests unaware of the transformation that the club's recent renovations, with its fireplace, upbeat music, and contemporary atmosphere. Throughout the week, the friendly bar and staff offer perks like hot appetizers from 4PM-7PM as well as specially priced drinks that make the location a popular happy hour destination. Weekly entertainment includes an extraordinarily popular midweek salsa scene, as well as Spanish and house music throughout the weekend. Sundays are no exception to the entertainment, as the club offer alternating weeks of Swing and contemporary dance music. The crowd can vary extremely between salsa die-hards fitted from head to toe in traditional Latin dance attire to club nights that simply offer an upbeat mainstream scene of hip-hop and pop culture. Locals like the location because it's within a short drive of most of Long Beach while hotel guests like it because it's virtually in the lobby and perfect for the unplanned evening out on the Long Beach town. -- Michael Martin
