Squeeze past the velvet ropes and brigade of clipboard carriers at the former Shelter locale and let one of the buxom servers in three-inch platforms seduce you with a $300 bottle of Patron. Bottle service is recommended if you decide to give your legs a rest from excessive strutting, since all of the geometric and velvet booths are reserved for such expensive tastes. Walk beneath the gold chandeliers through the paisley wallpapered VIP rooms and strike your best pose on the red canopied patio, which pulls triple duty as a dance floor, smoking area and spot to check out who else was deemed privileged enough to be seen by you. Spotted Here: Paris, yes, plus Justin and Cameron, and 'Spiderman' sweetheart Kirsten Dunst (no word if ex-flame Jake G. was at her side). Can I Get In? It's easy to be seen in LA -- if you know the right people (bouncers) at the right places (where celebs are spotted). Yet it's a Privilege to get that opportunity. It's an even greater honor if you can weasel your way in after 10PM. Good luck.

Please. This place does not deserve the hype. My friend and I were on a friend's birthday VIP list 2 months ago, so we thought we wouldn't have trouble getting in. The guy handling the birthday list was too full of himself to help anyone out (he literally shouted to someone asking to speak w/ him, "Can't you see I'm on my break?" It was barely 10:30, and the club had just opened), and the 2 other losers w/ clipboards ignored anyone who tried to talk to them. (They were trying too hard to look important at their minimum wage jobs, I guess). Once we got in (an hour later), we were surrounded by white walls and bad flooring. The only good thing there was the DJ. At one point someone started smoking a cigarette, and before we knew it, everyone in one corner was smoking out (cigs and weed). I guess it is a privilege to hang out w/ the hollywood losers... if you're a loser too. I'd rather skip this fake scene and drink up at the Dresden.

What You Do not know

WOW.. I have been frequenting this place since it's introduction to LA in June of 2003. Where they get thier ideas.. damned if I know. But it's hot. And constantly changes. I am not even sure how to describe it, but hot girls, totally off the hook action. If a guy can not make it happen here, he better become a cleric. You what struck me right off? Free pour drinks. That means, yeah the bar staff are counting, but the drinks taste like drinks should. You know, Miami style. A little ice, a litle mix, a good drink the bounce you into the vibe. There is something oddly.. umm.. what do I say.. themed here. The place is not just the look. It's the show. Even the staff are in on it. Security is swift. I saw they "help" someone behaving badly out They do not mess around. Thank you. I am here to party, and not have my night screwed up by someone the club is not adequate enough to handle. Another long wait at the door. But worth every minute and penny. Certainly burn through the cash fast.. but I feel cool just veing there. But I am cool. So it works for me. Good luck.. See Ya.
