Rate and Write a Review One of the most long-lasting cafs on caf-filled Ventura Boulevard, Rive Gauche is consistently popular as a casually comfortable meeting place for lunch or dinner. The food is simple caf- French: quiches and crpes, appetizers such as an artichoke in a saucy vinaigrette, brunch items including the salmon-and-spinach tart and a variety of salads. At dinner the cooking is more upscale: roast duck l'orange or the wonderfully garlicky scampi.

Our favorite restaurant. It has class in service, food and interior. The duck is my wifes favorite. They also have a wonderful banquet facility (not large but great for birthday parties, etc)
You can not go wrong at Rive Gauche

Sorry, "Parisienne99", but I cannot imagine why one would actively seek out "authentic French food" in Los Angeles.
Rive Gauche indeed is NOT French, despite its moniker. However, it IS superb! In fact, I would pass up a trip to Paris to dine in any "authentic" French restaurant to instead dine here. The food is marvelous, the service is excellent, the wine list is sublime, and the ambience is perfection. As for the credentials of "Parisienne99", I was unaware that merely being a French citizen gave one ultimate authority on cuisine, haute or otherwise. By the way, the escargots here are a garlicky delight.
