When Ed and Vern bought their little piece of heaven way back in 1961, they had no idea it would become the Hog haven it is today. What started out as a grocery store soon began to attract tourists and joy riders out for a spin to the nearby Pacific Ocean, and The Rock Store slowly evolved into its current incarnation as a magnet for two-wheeling enthusiasts. Diehard bikers and weekend warriors swing by for the Rock Store's famous breakfasts and barbecue tri-tip sandwiches, or just a cold beer before heading back on the open road. Frequent visitor and noted bike enthusiast Jay Leno often brings his latest set of wheels around for patrons to gawk at, and has even been known to demonstrate his grease monkey skills should a fellow biker have a breakdown. What with the ready-made cast of extras and picturesque setting amid the Santa Monica Mountains, The Rock Store has been the site of several Hollywood productions and music videos.
