The Scoop: Hidden away behind a line of restaurants on Abbot Kinney Boulevard is a magical oasis of garden sculptures, plants, fountains and ponds. Sculpture Gardens specializes in potted plants, including flowering trees and shrubs, cacti, bromeliads and succulents, in addition to exotic indoor and outdoor greenery, orchids and bonsais. Most plants are potted in terracotta or handmade pots, some created by local craftspeople. You'll also find wind chimes and fountains made from natural or artificial rock, aquatic plants and baby koi fish for use in ponds. Prices range from $2 for small plants up to $300 for a large citrus tree planted in a giant pot.The Scene: If you walk past Venice Place too quickly, you might miss the entrance to the Sculpture Gardens -- most of it is hidden from the street. Enter through the gate, down a long, narrow corridor, and find yourself in a secret garden.
