There are a number of different types of rooms at this unique motel, which sits on the Strand and about one foot from the sand of Hermosa Beach. The main motel has beachfront, regular rooms consisting of one queen bed, kitchenette, and sliding glass doors. The large units have one room with two double beds, a front room with trundle couch and a kitchen, also overlooking the pool and ocean. There's another beachfront building with economy units (one double bed, microwave/refrigerator, shower). Balcony units have full kitchens, two double beds, private balcony and a northern view. Regular units have at least two double beds, full kitchens, tubs or showers and no view. An "M" type unit has two bedrooms, three queen beds, twin trundle in living room, full kitchen, and Jacuzzi tub. There's a deluxe unit, including one queen or two double beds, a front room with trundle couch and full kitchen. Some of these units have sliding doors attached to both the bedroom and front room, lounge chairs and private balconies. Finally, for even more space, the motel offers beach houses and beach cottages. There are daily rates, weekly rates and monthly rates for all rooms. Rooms also include cable television and direct dial phones. There is a heated pool on the premises. There's no restaurant or room service, but guests will have no problem finding a wide array of restaurants in the charming village of Hermosa. The 18-mile jogging/skating/biking path is just out the front door.- -Cathy Tamkin
