The Shilo Inn is a great alternative to the high- priced, fancy resorts that are everywhere in the Palm Springs area. It's a pretty basic room, but with enough amenities to make you feel good about forsaking the high-priced spread. There's a fitness center with a relaxing sauna or steam room to aid in your quest for a relaxing vacation. They serve a continental breakfast every day and you get a complimentary USA Today in case you want to keep up on what's happening in the rest of the world.
