Worst Sales Ladies
The store on LAKE in PASADENA CA by far has the worst sales staff onboard. On 7/19/09 I visited the store only because Ann Taylor (next door) by far my favorite store, was very low on new inventory.
As I walked in I noticed several sales ladies around, looking a bit on the edge. I attributed this to slow sales and started looking around, picked a few items as I continued to notice these ladies looking like they own the store - as if I just walked into their homes and disturbed them.
It was only when I had several items in hand did a sales clerk bother to come and smile and asked to put my items in a fitting room, then disappeared for good. I purchased several items worth over $600 and left.
When I arrived home, I noticed I picked 2 items that were the wrong size. So, one week later I returned 2 jackets with the tags on and clearly untouched for a different size.
Again, as soon as I walked into the store, I again noticed these women acting like I disturbed their much needed afternoon naps and were NOT pleased.
The atmosphere went from "strange" to "ugly" when one of the sales ladies, wearing a tight little T-shirt with 90% of her breast falling out, finally bothered to look my way; and when she found out I was returning items, she looked utterly annoyed and told me right away that if I didn't have my receipt, I can only get store credit for the present value of the item being returned - went on for several minutes - incoherenly and in a very agitated manner telling me something to the effect that if I paid a $100 for an item and that same item is now $10, I would only get credit for $10.
When she finally stopped falling all over herself trying to explain this very unpleasant thing I'm about to experience, I told her I have the receipt. Two jackets which she's very familiar with that cost $140 a piece were on the receipt and the jackets.
After several minutes of her fumbling around with the cash register, looking annoyed and frustrated, she finally handed me the receipt for the returned item which showed a credit to my card for a total of $50 for the two jackets that I paid $140 a piece for.
When I told her she made a mistake, that the jackets were $140 a piece, as she very clearly saw, she got irate and with a combative attitude and loud voice told me she claimed I only paid a total of $50 for 2 jackets and not $140 a piece as I erroneously thought. After I showed her the amount of the ticket on the jackets and the amount on the receipt, and told her THOSE are clearly the items I'm returning and not the others, this seemed to annoy her to no end and added more agression to her already disturbing behavior as she grabbed the receipt and in a loud voice again said that she was only doing what she "thought" was right
As I quietly watched in disbelief this drama queen attempt to weasel me out of money, I found myself resisting asking her if by any chance the money was coming out of her personal bank account and instead told her in a quiet calm manner to "Drop the attitude because it wasn't working."
This is when she completely lost it and yelled out she "DID NOT HAVE AN ATTITUDE." Then a moment later in a very sarcastic way said "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" and continued to go about her lousy attempt to do her job, running around in circles looking for things she seemed to have trouble finding and getting even more frustrated and aggressive as she went on trying to complete the transaction. She finally handed me the receipt showing my return, and I took it and headed out the door not a moment too soon, and as I was leaving I noticed all the other sales ladies looking at me as if I was the one causing all the commotion and not their friend, the train wreck of a saleswoman.
One of them sarcastically and very slowly said "have a nice day" in a very heavy Asian accent - almost as if trying to lure me into a fight.
These ladies are NUTS and if any manager cares enough to save their stores from going under, you should take these red flags and CLEAN HOUSE. These bimbos are going to cost you serious loss of revenues.
If this happened with me, I can assure you it's happening to many many more customers.
I spent over $500 on my 1st visit and on the 2nd visit I had every intention to only return and get different size and do some more shopping, but after that nighmare, you can rest assured I will NEVER - EVER - step inside Talbots on LAKE in PASADENA CA - even if you were giving stuff away. So not only these bimbos cost you $280 in loss because they stopped me dead in my tracks from simply exchanging the items instead of returning them, but caused you a loss of at least an addtional $300 more in extra sales.
THESE SORRY EXCUSES FOR SALES LADIES ARE COSTING YOU MUCH MORE THAN YOU REALIZE IN THIS ALREADY STRUGGLING ECONOMY.
