If you're entranced with LA's number-one industry or the scene that surrounds it, you've found the right place to observe it all. Within walking distance of the Mann's Chinese Theater, the Egyptian and more, this Travelodge is not the greatest place to stay, but it's cheap and the rooms are clean and big. Best of all, it has a pool, beside which you can work on your tan so you'll look good going to the Viper Room that night to trace River Phoenix's deadly drug- induced evening of '94. We say this because, to stay here, you must find Hollywood fascinating -- all of its pomp and circumstance, its sleaze and glamour, its debauchery and secrets.
