In its convenient location, this is a downtown-style swap meet that's not downtown. A little bit of a mix of Chinatown (without the culture) and Santee Alley in the garment district, this big building holds clothes, food, electronics, toys, kids' bikes, shoes, undergarments, a tailor and a pet store. None of it is the best quality, but it's cheap: handfuls of socks for a couple dollars and T-shirts, three for $10. A few dozen vendors work in this space, with booths packed in next to each other, so deals will vary. Two different Chinese food joints, one a restaurant and the other more of a deli, have seating inside, as does a hot dog stand that also sells nachos, candy and sodas. A beauty supply store in the northeast corner has cheap funky nail polishes and ponytail holders, and a salon across the aisle from that does hair and nails.
