In ShortDim lighting, yellow lilies on crisp linens, Mediterranean paintings and celestial wall etchings create the surrounding for beachgoing diners. Zazou's "cuisine of the sun" infuses eclectic Californian with Mediterranean flair. Starters include oven-dried tomato and pesto tart. Also on offer: frog legs and peppered ahi tuna. Signature St. Tropez mussels, clams and calamari are served in wine, garlic, shallot and parsley sauce. For dessert, apple tarte Tatin a la mode is topped with caramel.

Just had dinner at what I'd call a nice comfortable place for a civilized meal and pleasant dining experience. Food wasn't in the spectacular category, but was still pleasing. Service was friendly and helpful, without being obtrusive. Prices are moderate to moderately expensive for most items. 2 bottles of wine with dinner for six people ran us just over $300. Most memorable dish was the melted brie we had as an appetizer.
