On a damp, dark night, when the city is out to eat you alive and you want to hide out in front of a wood-crackling fire, join Smokey, Bambi and the gang at Bigfoot Lodge. The forest preservation icons welcome you to the cozy log cabin, while faux taxidermy eerily smile down upon the dark booths and wooden porch chairs lining the lounge. The room is always filled with the warmth and laughter of the rockabillies, art Goths and neighborhood hipsters who swap stories and cans of PBR. Saddle up to the tree-limbed bar and have one of the gruff, buff or tattooed bartenders shake you up at Girl Scout Cookie, decadence that's as addictively pleasurable as a Thin Mint. A wide range of rock aficionados take to the turntables nightly, playing indie, punk and new wave, including anything from Joy Division to The Kinks and X. Lines are common and the room fills up quickly on the weekends so drifters should wander in early to earn a spot snuggling around the fireplace.

Bartenders Are HOT!
By rainonsun1 on 03/04/2007
I went to bigfoot lodge a while back and visited a few times after that. Took my now girlfriend there and had a good time. People sticked in groups which was cool with me. Just want to have a drink and chat then this is the place. Oh wait, there was one thing I didnt like. Kind of smells like mildew in there. But once you get trashed no worries. :P

Not what its made up to be
By nativelife on 12/30/2006
Drinks are watered down and not so strong. Dark and full of stuffed animals. And not one Bigfoot in sight. But a smoky the bear. Should have been called Smokys instead. Once was enough for me
