Satiating the palate is an unusual and enticing variety of pasta dishes, seafood and steaks, Spaghetti allo Scglio, and Risotto Ai Funghi.

Excellent...loved the manager, loved the waiter!
By JusMatynMe on 05/17/2008
After reading the reviews i was reluctant to follow through on my reservation, but I am so glad I kept it! I've dined at the Tribeca Grill in NYC, so I really wanted to try this one too. The manager was so sweet, when we told him we had our reservation, he opened his arms and escorted us right there to our table. The waiter was "wonderful" and bet me a penny on whether I would like mozzarella/tomato or mozzarella/green beans. I lost the bet. The bread basket was filled with all sorts of choices! So Yummy! My truffle mushroom/veal ravioli was delicious! And for dessert the miniature cannoli's was tasty! It had a raspberry on one end and a blackberry on the other. YUM! The truffle gelati was covered with cocoa and was delightful. Our dining neighbors were lovely and memorable! It was a Delightful Experience. I loved Angelini's and Amalfi's too!!!! I would suggest Ago's.....it was wonderful evening!

HORRIBLE SERVICE
By carchirn on 12/30/2007
I RECENTLY VISITED AGO'S FOR MY 36TH BIRTHDAY, WHICH MY HUSBAND INFORMED THE STAFF WHEN HE RESERVED THE TABLE. WE WERE STUCK IN A CORNER WITH OTHER PATRONS SITTING WITHIN ELBOW DISTANCE. OUR TABLE WOBBLED THE ENTIRE 1 1/2 HOURS THAT WE WERE THERE. THE STAFF DID TRY TO FIX IT BUT WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. SO, INSTEAD OF SEATING US ELSEWHERE, THEY CONTINUED TO FIX OUR TABLE AS WE SAT THERE WAITING FOR OUR FOOD. WE WAITING 30 MINS BEFORE MY HUSBAND FINALLY ASKED TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE REGARDING ORDERING, AT LEAST OUR DRINKS. THE MANAGER ASKED WHAT WE WANTED AND WE ASKED IF WE COULD AT LEAST GET A WINE LIST. WE FINALLY GOT OUR WINE, BUT THEN NO ONE CAME TO GET OUR ANTIPASTA ORDER, MUCH LESS OUR MAIN COURSE ORDER. WE FOUND A BUS BOY AND ASKED HIM IF HE COULD FIND SOMEONE TO GET OUR ORDER. SOMEONE CAME UP AND GOT OUR ANTIPASTA ORDER. THE ANTIPASTA CAME AND WENT. WE AGAIN WAITED FOR SOMEONE TO AT LEAST MENTION THE SPECIALS. WE AGAIN ASKED FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE OUR ORDER AND ASKED FOR THE SPECIALS. UNFORTUNATELY, WE DID NOT HAVE TIME TO DISCUSS THE SPECIALS AS WE FELT IF WE LET THIS GUY GO, WHO KNOWS WHEN ANYONE WILL BE BACK AGAIN. IT WAS AROUND 9:30PM AND I WAS NO LONGER HUNGRY, HOWEVER JUST WHEN WE WERE GOING TO ASK FOR THE CHECK, OUR DINNER CAME. WE DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND EAT IT AND HOPE THEY WOULD COMP US. WE ASKED A BUS BOY AGAIN FOR THE CHECK AND THE MANAGER, HOWEVER ONLY THE CHECK CAME WITH A PLATE OF DESERTS. FIRST OF ALL, MY HUSBAND IS A DIABETIC AND I HAD A SMALL COLD, DESERTS WERE THE LAST THING WE WANTED. NO ONE EVEN ASKED HOW DINNER WAS OR IF WE EVEN WANTED DESERT. WE SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER AND DISTRICT MANAGER TO SEE ABOUT GIVING US SOME SORT OF DISCOUNT ON THE $200 MEAL. THEY REFUSED. SO, HERE I AM WRITING ABOUT HOW MY BIRTHDAY WAS SPENT AT AGO'S. THE ONLY REASON I GAVE THIS A FAIR RATING IS BECAUSE THE FOOD WAS WONDERFUL AND THE OTHER TIMES I HAVE VISITED AGOS THERE WAS BETTER SERVICE, HOWEVER WE WERE IN A GROUP. SO, I CONCLUDE, DON'T GO UNLESS IN A GROUP.

"have you no decency ... Mr. D
By estellevillas on 12/11/2007
My son, an actor, wanted to take me to a fine LA restaurant on a recent vist there. We were stuffed sardines on a very noisy Thursday night and I'm sure my son slipped the full tilt to a pursed lipped host as we were seated after only 15 minutes. Our waiter was so rude his eyes gazed skyward as he described the food as if it were prepared by the Roman Gods themselves. I should have known an insult was brewing when I asked for some grated cheese for the top of my risotto to which the waiter replied ... NO!!! My son pleaded with soulful eyes, "but, my Mom, she..." NO!!! My LA Nightlife ruined. Once more he asked and a reluctant waiter complied. It was lousy, by the way. How can one put a name to a place unless it is a cut above. My son blew his entire paycheck for that meal. Remember those times, Bobby?

Eurotrash at the door
By heiris32 on 08/14/2007
Because my date slipped the boys at the door a heavy tip we were seated quickly and at a nice table. It turned my stomach to see them treat others who did not tip shamefully. These two men act as though they hold some type of importance to the grand scheme of things, when actually they are the worst part of Ago. They should wear Halloween costumes every night and carry a treat bag. It would seem less like begging. The rest of the restaurant was not horrible and it wasn't great. Just average. To all I know I will warn to stay away. The the owners: take your relatives off the door.
