Alegria On Sunset   

Hands down, Alegria is the best Mexican food in Los Angeles. Home style food that makes you feel like you are in Mexico City or in a local restaurant in Mexico. Once you eat there - you will understand why no other Mexican restaurant will do. It's just amazing.

Alegria is the absolute BEST Mexican restaurant ever!!! This is coming from someone who never cared too much for mexican food and now I eat it all the time. Try the Enchiladas Suisas, enchiladas that are stuffed with baked chicken. Don't pass up the cafe olla, a cinnamon-y tasting coffee drink. And for desert, get the chocolate chimichanga which is an almond Hershey bar wrapped in a tortilla and fried, with fruit sauce drizzled on top. Definitely go for breakfast too, the huevos rancheros are amazing. There is usually a line to get in if you go during dinner-rush hours (you have to go inside and put your name on the list), but it's so worth the wait. Before you go, don't forget its a cash only restaurant and BYOB! I just moved from LA to Phoenix and all I can think about is getting back to LA to eat at Alegria!
