The Cheers of Italian Neighborhood places no matter where your neighborhood is. Angeli Caffe is a unique modern family restaurant that since 1984 has offered Los Angeles diners Rustic Regional Italian food with a California twist. Considered cutting edge hip when it first opened, Angeli now sits squarely on the side of up-scale family dining. We present high quality food, prepared by well known chef Evan Kleiman and her staff in a modern environment. Angeli is known for the friendliness of the staff and the welcome given to all who enter be they seniors, industry types, or harassed parents with children. We've grown up with the city and consider ourselves part of the community.

Thursday night special menus are the best bargain in town. Every meal that I've had has been exceptional. Tons of food. Evan mingles with the crowd and a good time is had by all.

We just dropped in supposedly ten minutes after they had closed on a less than busy 4th of July weekend. We were welcomed as if we were the first customers of the evening and the attention did not stop. Gnocchi with butter and sage were sublime and the "white" pizza with prosciutto was no less satisfying. Finished with a lovely apricot tart. Embarrasingly enough Angeli kind of felll off my dining radar after Mare and the Trattoria closed. This is truly one of L.A.'s classics. Is is just a coincidence that the two best Italian restaurants in L.A. are named Angeli and Angelini? (With a tip of the hat to Valentino.)
