TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!
It's a shame that the service is so terrible here because the food is good. The waitor was snide and condescending, and he served wine in a dirty glass!! The wine glass had visible dust all over like it had been sitting out for months. I will never NEVER go back there again.

I made reservations for noon on Sunday. We approached the door at noon. The door as shut. We walked away for several minutes, still shut. The two men inside looked at us like we were bothering them. 10 or so minutes after noon they opened. They were not very pleasant at first. The waittress was nice. The food was excellent.

I took my "meat & potatos" eating fiance here to give him a change of pace and a taste of the "good life." He was a little hesitant to order from the menu because it was a bit out of his element, so he ordered the hamburger and fries... This wasn't just no ordinary hamburger & fries though! It was very gourmet and he truly enjoyed it! The fries were seasoned and delicious and he couldn't get enough of them! The only problem is, you pay a lot and receive small portions, which aren't too convienient for a big guy like my fiance. The service was truly excellent and the herbed mash potatos are to die for!
Croque Mr's Review
As in any Puck restaurant, food is EXCELLENT quality. A bit more pricey than average, but much cheaper than Puck's other star restaurants. You get free goat cheese and olive oil when seated, along with a very "interesting" assortment in the bread basket. Awesome onion soup, and UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS grilled tuna (seared around the edges and sushi-like raw in the middle, with GREEN mashed potatoes). I'm usually someone who thinks that dessert is not worthwhile if it does not contain chocolate, but the apple tart with green apple ice cream was EXQUISITE! It's pretty big, so splitting it with somebody should still give you plenty to savor. Definitely a place to impress out-of-towners right after a little tour of the Chinese Theater/Walk of Fame. And don't worry about the bad review from VMUSA, I've read lots of reviews in this forum and I don't think there's a great restaurant in L.A. that she didn't hate. Oh, and in case you were wondering ... "VERT" means "green" in French, hence the green decor, and all the green food.
