Forget about 30-minute delivery or grabbing a slice on the way home from work. Checkered table cloths, old black-and-white photographs and mid-century prices make Casa Bianca a sit-down-and mangia kind of place. The modest decor, carafes of red wine and old neon sign give this town favorite a kitschy feel, and the crowd is as diverse as Los Angeles itself. Westsiders make the trek to Eagle Rock just for the sausage with caramelized garlic pizza, which is a favorite among regulars.While the food here is classic Italian, the owners have bent the rules for a few additions, such as Hawaiian-style pizza (pineapple and ham) and jalapeno toppings. If you're a vegetarian, be sure to try the eggplant and garlic pizza. Though Sicilian and whole wheat crusts are available, most opt for the traditional white-flour version, which is thin and crispy. Since there are no reservations, the wait can be a bit long. But it's certainly worth it.
