In ShortConcealed from the street by greenery-covered walls, urban eclectics covet tables on the tree-shaded, two-level garden patio. Inside, a low-ceilinged, dimly lit dining room is appointed in minimalist decor, with throw pillows and Cirque du Soleil-inspired patterns. A Mediterranean-accented menu begins with plates of fritto misto and honey-sauteed figs over toasted brioche. Pastas include pumpkin or veal ravioli and linguine with clams, and entrees range from pecan-crusted trout to sirloin steak. Brunch options include omelettes, eggs and crepes.

bad experience w/Pierre
By shellydutcher on 07/13/2005
I've eaten at Cliffs Edge a few times and even taken my girlfriend there for her birthday. I've always been treated well be the staff and really watched the progress of this restaurants menu, pricing, etc. I recently had a very bad run in with the manager Pieree Casanova. He was so irrational and rude that it left me wondering what bad thing had happpened to him recently to be so increadibly unproffesional. To make a long story short....this establishment has lost at least 30 customers as a result of his horrific behavior. I reserched his history and found that I've had other bad experiences with Pieree at other restaurants he has fronted. I hope the owners...Keith Greco and Dana Hollister, (who are local designers and event planners), are aware of their Pierre's behavior. It's sad because Silverlake really needs great restaurants. But Los Angeles in the year 2005 doesn't need the attitude of 1985. It's just not neccessary to be so inhospitble to potential clients and patrons. I hope no one else has to encounter Pierre's bizzare and abusive behavior. Take your dollers elswere. I reccomend Blairs or Edendale for a more hospitable environment to spend you hard earned dollars.I feel bad for the kind staff that is so attentive to be working in such a misshandled environment. If this restaurant is to succeed... someone needs to get a reality check. I've phoned a lot of people and I've found that I'm not the only patron with this unfortunatel experience with Pierre Cassanova. Too bad. I really liked Cliffs Edge.
