GROOVY happy hour joint!
By lcob12 on 06/26/2006
In the past few months we've spent many a happy hour cooling out on the patio of El Cid. Most of the tapas are HALF price. Where else in Silver Lake can you get a scrumptious skirt steak with humongous grilled mushrooms and sizzling rings of red onion for less than 5 bucks!? As far as the tapas go, I have never had anything mediocre (or 'medeaoker' as one reviewer wrote), and the margaritas and salty beers are a great way to polish off the work week. Bartenders Jen and Alex are cool and have conversational skills, and it might be the only place where I've ever struck up geniuine conversation with complete strangers! (so what if it was about the deliciousness of their Bloody Marys) Shame on me that I've never been inside for the Flamenco Show! It's just too fun outside!

Excellent spanish restaurant, with exciting entertainment and some of the best spanish cousine around. You must treat yourself and check out this restaurant for the experience.

Flamenco Fantastico
By glamourrrrrr on 03/17/2004
The food is medeaoker and fairly pricey but worth it for the show. The show is fantastic and the atmosphere is wonderful. It was formerly DW Griffiths studio and I believe he shot several movies there. They serve brunch on the weekends and the sangria is divine. The brunch is a kick they have a band outside and it is fairly deserted. It's great to go with a big group of people. Run don't walk before this place is exploited and tainted by Hollywood hipsters.
