very funny
very irish.
Don't go here!
The food is so bad, but after 2 margaritas, it never mattered.
What mattered was the fun atmosphere, filled with a diverse crowd, straights, gays, all ethnicities, and Fran the best waitress in LA.
There was always a large gay crowd present.
Not any more, the owners have been outed as homophobic Mormans.
For 8 years we have supported El Coyote 2-3 times/month. No more as I cannot continue to spend $ where I am considered a second class citizen.
I am so sorry Fran.
It's time to move on...El Compadre anyone?
Love for years
The BEST Mexican food. The best tacos around. Consistency describes it best. EVERY time I go there, I get the same wonderful tastes. I've been going there since I was a little girl and it's still a family favorite for all generations. There are still the some of the same warm and friendly servers there.
It's okay
El Coyote used to be a great place for cheese enchiladas, Jack Nicholson used to order them and have them sent to locations where he was working. This is the place where Sharon Tate and party dined for the last time before the visit from the Manson screwballs. It was a heavy gay hangout for a while and it is still decent after all these years and changes. It does not have the best Margaritas. Out in Sunland there is a little Mexican food place called Mi Casita on Foothill Blvd. Their house margarita is so far and away the best margarita in town, bar none, that it doesn't matter who comes in second. Their cheese enchiladas are not great, but they serve the best carne asada tacos anywhere (The call them street tacos) for a buck a piece on Tuesday nights and those tacos will knock you out! Wednesday night they serve HALF PRICE MARGRITAS and that means you should get there early. They close about nine. Don't believe me? Try it there on a street taco Tuesday. Have three or four street tacos and you're out what, three or four bucks? Where else can you do that? If you still think you need to smoke, there is a back court where you can dine and smoke and that is a rare thing these days. Try the house, NOT the fancy call or top shelve margaritas and you'll be hooked and then you will have to migrate to Sunland every Tuesday night that you can FOREVER!
