In ShortDark wainscoting, faux-marble walls and distressed tables fill an arched, airy space. Sepia photos of the old country remind patrons of the cafe's heritage. For starters, the fried calamari is a highlight: Lightly spiced baby squid presented with lemon wedges and crushed garlic marinara.
