good food for "regulars"
By jrgersonmd on 01/21/2004
I was in a party of 6 adults for dinner. When we checked in for our reservation at 5:30 and were virtually the only group in the room, we were shown to a table directly at the entrance to the dining room. When I asked the manager to give us a different location, he said that the other tables further back in the dining room were "saved for regular" cusomers. I must say that the food and food service were excellent after that and everyone enjoyed the mear. When the bill came it was almost $400.00 with the tip...and only three at the table had cocktails. One premium vodka on the rocks was $10.00! I would not ever go back even though the food was well prepared and served well. For a chain steakhouse in El Segundo, they should think more about regular people rather than theie "special" customers.

JRRemson's Review
By jrremson on 09/11/2003
Although the food was excellent, the reception left a lot to be desired. We had gone there for our wedding anniversary and had made reservations well in advance advising them we would need a high chair. The reservationist was very accomodating and asked if this was a special occasion which we informed her it was. When we arrived at the restaurant, we had to wait while others who had arrived after us were seated. When we inquired about the delay, we were told they were going to find us a "nice" table. After 15 minutes, they said our table was ready. We again reminded them of the highchair and they looked at us like we asked for a free drink! They offered a booster chair which is not what we requested and when we were finally seated, we had the worst table; right in front of the entrance! The table was not set yet and the waiter just threw the silverware on the table. I guess he couldn't wait until we got our child settled. There was no recogition of our celebration. The room was very noisy and the attention to service was lacking. They pride themselves on an extensive wine list and rightly so but if you don't order any, you get the impression that you're the one lacking. The food is very good and the portions adequated. That is the only redeeming quality. I would return for the food but not for the service or greeting, which does set the initial mood.
