Scooping up tasty, cold treats since 1925, Fosselman's -- run by the Fosselman family, natch -- isn't any run-of-the-mill ice creamery. Sure, there's the cold case full of bins of ice cream lining one wall, the fridge in back with the take-home quarts and the always-needed water fountain, but this Pasadena-close fave is beloved for two main reasons. First, it's the richness of the stuff and the varieties of the flavors -- think taro and green tea in addition to the chocolates and vanillas -- and second, of course, is the family vibe. It's not uncommon to see a member of the Fosselman clan out front chatting up long-time devotees who came in as kids and are now introducing their young ones to this small and sweet storefront. The ice cream is rich to be sure (diets be darned), but the spot is rich too, in history and good feeling.
