Il Capriccio is an Italian opera from the 17th century, but Tony DeMonte had "capricious" in mind when he selected the name for his Los Feliz area restaurant. Entree specials are updated nightly, though the menu's pasta staples are solid on their own. Favorites include the tri-mushroom pasta and penne with spicy sausage. The menu also features a succulent pork tenderloin in addition to several seafood choices, especially mussels and clams. The bad news: no liquor license. The good news: you can bring a bottle of your own favorite wine and there's no corkage. The high-ceilinged room is made most whimsical by dropping the kitchen right into the dining area. You get to see it all, but you get to hear it all, too. Some older customers now come in during off-hours for a quieter meal, but the younger crowd seems to enjoy the Italian kitchen ambience. The patio seats 25 while the dining room holds at least double that number.

Amazing Italian Food & Prices!
By francandme on 01/06/2007
The food here is outstanding and the prices are great. Open for lunch M-F and dinner daily. The warm, soft homemade bread begins your meal. The regular menu is mouthwatering and the specials here really are special. Bring your own bottle of wine for a nominal corkage. The family that runs this restaurant are always warm and welcoming. Parking is available in the back lot. Il Cappriccio should be on the top of your list for dining every day of the week!

I like eating here. You can bring your own wine and pay a very low corkage. The linguini with clams is very good. It is a fun local eatery.

And I am not just saying that. My family and friends have enjoyed fabulous meals here numerous times since we discovered it in 2004 and on into 2005. We never had the bad service experience that was mentioned in one comment, and is someone saying pasta is not Italian. Try the veal shank. It was wonderful.

this place is decent. However, theres not much in the way of true Italian dishes. All they serve is pasta dishes.
