Romance is definitely in the air at this organic, hormone-free haven nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains. You'll think you've escaped to a secret hideaway when you descend a staircase ensconced in lush greenery into a garden courtyard, then feast on vegetarian and non-veggie delights. Bread is baked fresh daily, and local farms supply the fruits and vegetables. Most of the dining is alfresco, and you'd be crazy not to enjoy the outdoors with the restaurant's old-fashioned iron chairs and the sound of a gurgling fountain nearby. Fare includes grilled asparagus and Maine lobster to start, and entrees feature free-range chicken, naturally raised filet mignon and Atlantic salmon. Vegan dishes are a prominent part of the menu; highlights include the vegan tortellini and Vietnamese vegan spring rolls. For dessert, the macadamia creme brulee is a must.

Not What We Expected
By AVinylFetish on 06/28/2009
My fiance and I had the impression that this was for the most part a vegetarian/vegan restaurant. We were very disappointed with how few vegetarian/vegan options there actually were on the dinner menu. Atmosphere or not, we would have been much better of going with our usual Follow Your Heart...

Once Great, Now a Disaster!!!!

Stay away from this place. It used to be our favorite restaurant but now the service is completely non existent. We waited 45 minutes just to have our drinks served and they never even came, not even a bread basket! By the way they weren’t busy at all they just seemed like they were chit chatting and standing around. We got up and walked out, right in front of the server mind you, and he made absolutely no attempt to stop us. He didn't care at all. Seemed like he wanted us out despite the fact I was about to drop over $250 and a $50 potential tip. You go to any other high end restaurant in LA with potential tips of this size and you get phenomenal first class service. Normally servers have to fight for their chance to work for a place like this and with one screw up they are gone for good. Not here though... Upon contact the management I was informed our server was the "best" and didn't even bother with a follow up call as they didn’t care! Nothing was offered as compensation despite ruining our night and driving all the way out there. You get better service than this at Denny’s and boy I wish I was joking but I’m not. Do yourself a favor and take your date and hard earned money elsewhere.
