It has the best service and the food is great. The pizza is really good, just like I remmeber it in Italy. If you like GOOD food then spago's is worth the money..

I enjoyed my visit... The food was superb, the service was excellent - Spago is a well oiled machine. I've already made reservations to return.

This restaurant was very classy and elegant. Food matched the ambiance. Good-sized portions. I got the salmon for my entree and the calamari (which was delicious with the spicy horseradish sauce) as my appetizer. Their dessert special (chocolate pecan pie!) was delicious, though not the best i've tried (try Arroyo Chophouse's Chocolate Pecan Pie--to die for!) Also, Wolfgang Puck was there and came made sure everyone's meal was okay and everything..so overall pleasant experience.

The food was very good, but as the last reviewer said, nothing exceptional. Even after all these years, reservations are still hard to come by. The restaurant was packed even though it was rather late on a weekday night. It is L.A., so almost any type of dress is appropriate, but I noticed that it was a bit dressier than most restaurants in the area. There are several dining areas with plenty of room among tables (a relief!). It took us a few minutes to get our menus, but service was friendly and efficient. It would be a fun place to bring friends and family, although I wouldn't suggest it for a romantic occassion. The ingredients are of a good quality, although I thought the sauces were too strong. I've heard alot of people complain that the portions are tiny, which they're not. You're just not served so much that you can't finish your meal. I didn't find Spago particularly pricey - it's comparable to any other nice restaurant in Los Angeles, though the appetizers and desserts tend to be more expensive than most. In comparison, I would say that it's akin to Chaya Beverly Hills (really great, solid food, eh on the atmosphere). The atmosphere is definitely fun and not stuffy at all. I didn't see any vegetarian entree options, so a diner might have to request one through the server. It's an older crowd and not a trendy place (another relief), just a very good restaurant that merits its longevity.
