The SceneThe beautiful decor rivals the beautiful people who throng here--so much so that the beautiful sushi is almost an afterthought. Hollywood hopefuls and their industry counterparts make deals and discuss the latest buzz among classical Japanese wood, bamboo and stone decor. The FoodThe sushi chefs prepare innovative smaller dishes out of succulent, sliced hunks of raw fish. The scallop dynamite is tender and sweet--one of the best in town--and the rich black cod is a perfect counterbalance to the more delicate sashimi dishes. Try any sashimi appetizer, such as salmon or bonito, with tangy garlic ponzu sauce and jalapeno tempura. Sushi specials change daily but usually include rarer and more expensive Japanese imports such as ishi-tai (black tail snapper), sayori (half beak) and kohada (gizzard shad). Desserts are over-the-top rich and very good--especially the espresso and vanilla profiteroles.

Surprisingly Affordable
By higgly789 on 06/11/2007
I went here expecting to pay a fortune. I had recently been to BOA and thought I would try their other restaurant, so I knew they were expensive. The food was great though, all the rolls were fantasic and presented beautifully. When the bill came I was shocked to see that is was only $75 for two people. We were completely full and we even had two glasses of sake. Great ambience here too.

Prepare to PAY for Take out!!

Be prepared to pay 10% extra on any order over $100.00. Which they don't even tell you till after you have been charged. The sushi was one of the worst experiences I have had in Los Angeles, In addition they didn't even get my order right after repeating it 3x this turned into an over priced, over rated, disappointment.

ITS ABOUT THE FOOD

I THINK THE RED HEAD CUTIE SHOULD GET GLASS. THE PORTIONS ARE UNIVERSAL. IT IS THE KITCHEN ITEMS THAT FILL YOU UP. THE SPECIALS ARE THE TICKET.
