Rate and Write a Review Predating the "wrap" and toasted sub by a good 15 years, this tiny ethnic treasure has been a Valley go-to pick since the days when pita bread was meant only for dipping. Now its gospel gets spoken from Studio City to Woodland Hills, mainly due to unbelievably tasty turkey, mortadella and pepper beef pita sandwiches stuffed with string cheese, avocado, tomatoes and the perfect amount of pepperoncini. The grocery's appeal has also spread to vegetarians, who satiate their ideals with the stuffed grape leaf sandwiches (with tahina, parsley and radishes), falafel and even the stewed or chunky eggplant melanges. If you've got a party to throw, the lavash party tray usually derives no complaints, covered with pinwheel cutups of any sandwich variety wrapped in cellophane. But if you've got time, and are having doubts whether you should stay or go, the interior is mostly equipped for pickups and shoppers seeking out premium imported items such as olives, dates and, of course, babaghanouj, so consider "takeout" your likely phrase of choice.
