In ShortThis isn't a typical barbecue joint, and the vibe and food are anything but rustic. Inside, families and couples at large booths and tables feast on mesquite-grilled BBQ in a modern, earth-toned setting. Slow-roasted meats, such as baby-back ribs and chicken, dominate the moderately-priced menu, but crowd-pleasers also include the 15-ounce Kansas City Strip, freshwater Idaho trout and balsamic shrimp. If that doesn't trip the trigger, Certified Angus Beef burgers and mile-high salads are other options.

Barbecue, shmarbecue. You'd be crazy not to try the fish and the steaks. We had the trout. Unbelieveable! My girlfriend had the salmon in a bourbon and brown sugar sauce that was killer. The balsamic shrimps were very tender and beautifully caramelized. My dad had a Certified Angus Beef (whatever that is) ribeye. I'm all over that next time. We had the tri tip sliders as an appetizer and the ones who like sweet BBQ sauce loved them. The "grill" is what you should focus on here, Let the BBQ wait for lunchtime. Oh, we also had two desserts between the five of us and couldn't finish. Greeeeeaaaaaat cheesecake!

So very mediocre.

Not worth being listed under BBQ. This is kind of like the TGI Friday's of BBQ. Bland and safe. More of a corporation than a restaurant. (I vote for JR's BBQ on La Cienega south of the 10 for the best in LA!)

Sweet Potatoes

The best sweet potatoes on the planet!! My baby back ribs were pretty good, tender chicken, but i thought the tri tip was tough and overcooked. Great atmosphere and good service!

SORRY FOLK'S, THIS IS NOT BBQ
By pbstringbender on 03/09/2006
Although the quality of the food here is very good, and the Tri-Tip is tender and moist, BBQ IT AINT. The appropriate term is GRILLING. This place is more of a Western or Cowboy style grill. BBQ is low and slow, low moist heat with lots of smoke and cooked slowly, you can't rush good BBQ. I have always liked this restaurant for what it is and have alaways had top notch food here, but it's still not BBQ.
