Sushi Yamakawa   

Ive been going to yamakwa since i was 13 years old.. there secret is the salad dressing..if your in the valley ,its more then worth your time...

This is, by far, the best quality sushi for such reasonable prices. My boyfriend and I only really know of Katsu-ya and Asanebo here in the valley but first ate there last week in search for a more casual (i.e. inexpensive) sushi dinner. We were absolutely blown away by our chef who we, after a while, just asked him to make his own specialties. Ask him for the sea bass sushi with citrus salt. Their dynamite is top-notch. We are going again w/friends tonight; this time, will try the gyoza and black cod (my fave) as suggested.

Get the blue crab hand roll.

This restaurant uses crab meat in their California Roll which is one of the main reasons I enjoy this place.... Even some of the "finest" Japanese restaurants use that imitation stuff which I find most repulsive!
