In ShortThis well-appointed, laid-back pub is full of accented expats who traded London fog for California sunshine. The menu features traditional British pub and teahouse fare. The Welsh rabbit, a concoction of cheddar cheese, beer and spices, is a good base for a bellyful of British ale. Fish and chips are filets of fried Icelandic cod. The chicken salad features cream curry, raisins and celery. Fortnum & Mason tea, Royal Dalton china and other British goodies are available at the attached gift shop.

new look

New owners bring new ideas and the place has undergone a subtle upgrade without spoiling the atmosphere. Huge new flat screen TV's show live sports games, especially the soccer and rugby games we all love. Nothing better that a good English breakfast and a game of footy and this place serves the best! Very friendly staff, although there seems to be less and less British staff every time I go there. Great martini lounge/bar in back and always a good game of darts going on, can't beat it for authenticity, just like being at home!

As a travel professional who has dined at some of the world's finest eateries I can only say that Ye Olde King's Head has some of the best damn food on planet earth. I've been dining there since it opened many years ago; and, like a broken drum you can't beat it! Long may it last. Prof. Douglas J. This ain't 3rd Street

I hate the over-polished crass commercialism of Third Street. So when you have to be in the neighborhood, check this place out instead. They offer a fine selection of authentic pub fare, which is excellent for those not on Atkins or whatever other fad is being kicked around ten feet outside the pub doors. The atmosphere is fun and subdued, and the parking is fairly okay--if you go in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday. My only complaint is the HORRIBLE music they play over the loudspeaker: 80s soft rock hits. Ugh.
