Louisville bistro lovers usually find their way several times a year to the Bristol Bar & Grille, a standard for the past couple decades on the Bardstown Road restaurant scene. Start your meal with a black bean soup with assorted sausages, red onions and sour cream, or go for the artichoke fritters, served with remoulade sauce. Next, head for a blackened tuna nicoise, or a California club sandwich (fresh greens with shrimp, snow crab, avocado, olives and more), or just indulge in a Bristol Classic steak sandwich or burger. A Derby brunch (or brunch any Sunday) will take your mind off your (horseracing) losses, with cheese grits, hot browns, fresh salads and fruits, veggies, waffles made to order, chicken and country ham. Don't leave the table without at least a little taste of a couple of homemade desserts.
