Smoky's Steakhouse   

Went in 2000 for the first time and had great service, great atmosphere and great steak. Last visit 2006, expectations all changed. Very poor service, OK steak, lousy atmosphere.

...... these years. The beef to use as a measure. No pretense, no table tents. A drink and dinner - a perenial Madison winner.

Yes their Steak is large and full of flavor. But don't forget about their HASH BROWNS. BEST IN THE MIDWEST.

Had to go with large group. Service was better, went from terrible to inattentive. Food still was bad. My steak was bad, really bad. Try Johnnys Italian Steakhouse in Middleton. Great steaks and service. If someone in Madison recommends a resturant ask a newcomer instead the locals don't know good food.
