The Eagles Nest has the finest atmosphere of any restaurant in the Merced area. It would rival the best in the big cities. The food served is excellent. The menu offers a choice of very attractive items in a variety of prices. I have never left the restaurant hungry or dissatisfied with their food preparation. The issue is whether or not the Eagles Nest will be open for business or closed for good. The hours have been cut, variety has been limited and, in fact, they look like a week from closing their doors for good on each visit. We generally go there on all special occasions and other times when we feel like having a great meal. Once I ordered a steak with a particular sauce. I was told, "We're out of that sauce. Your steak will come with no sauce." Another time I ordered a particular seafood item from the menu I was told, "We ran out of that." They just aren't serious about what they're doing.  More Reviews
