Rate and Write a Review Part of the Miami landscape since 1971, Versailles is the classic Cuban restaurant. Attracting the old-timers discussing Fidel, as well as the young generation tired of hearing about it, Versailles is part of the quintessential Latin scene. It's so popular that no local politician wanting the Latin vote would dare run for office without making this stop on a vote-seeking tour. But what fills seats? It's the tasty food, reasonable prices and authentic "neighborhood joint" ambience. Take your pick of some of its specialties, including arroz con pollo (chicken and rice casserole) served with fried plantains and bistec de palomilla (skirt steak) served with rice, black beans and fried plantains. If you're after a little to-go jolt of caffeinated energy, be sure to head to the most popular walk-up counter in Miami for some tasty espressos or cafe con leches. Insiders' Tip: If you have a sweet tooth, head next door to Versailles Bakery for a selection of pastelitos (pastries filled with guava, cream cheese or both), empanadas and cookies. -- Marivi Iglesias
