Champion's Pub   

I've enjoyed Champion's for years now. A great cast of characters can always be found - local actors, lawyers, financial planners and retirees among others. I like playing shuffleboard and the occasional game of cribbage at the bar. The bartenders I've met are great and gracious, knowledgable about all kinds of sports, and they pour a generous drink. I don't what the last poster was talking about as I was introduced to the owner, who is admittedly a big guy and very charming and personable. I found out this has been his family's business for 50 years or so. He was a great host, funny and charming, and I got the impression he takes no crap from people who disrepect his place or his customers. The crowd gets younger later in the evening and by and large a good crowd. I recommend this place and a relaxing, no stress evening hanging out with friends ~

Went to Champions last night - which is a crappy dive-bar with fairly unimpressive clientele, but it's out-of-the-way, in a quaint neighborhood. Well, I finally found out why Champions doesn't do a little better for itself - the owner came in - a fat, ageing, coke-head (I'm guessing from his behavior), aggro frat boy. He was screaming at customers to the point of screaming OVER customers to yell at other patrons - he was a real pig and first-class jerk. When we got up to leave, he started screaming after us to call the owner if we had a problem. What a charmer this guy is - I urge you not to frequent this place in hopes that this freak will sell to someone who can clean the place up a bit. Gross.

We are from Texas and whenever we get to Milwaukee we go to Champions!!! YEEHAW!!!! Great drinks and People! Ride the Champion!!!

I enjoy going to this establishment. The people are friendly and the beer is cold. It is a great location to hide from the crowds from North Ave and have an out of control time. I am still waiting for the pickle egg eating contest.Anvil
