This is a full-service market in the fullest sense. Small by modern market standards, the store is brimming with good stuff. The quality is generally quite high, and the prices are a bit higher than more prosaic markets. Be careful in the parking lot: It's ill-designed and shouts fender-bender. Through the doors is a terrific produce department, fat with fresh, sumptuous fruits and vegetables. The dairy department, like the shelves, is stocked with a few big-name labels, but also lots of small producer goods and locally produced fare. Gourmet items are sprinkled through every section. The meat department is famously good, and the seafood is always well appointed. Real butchers are on hand to answer questions and provide advice. The bakery is inevitably busy, and with good reason. Wine prices are not cheap, but are not extortive. And the florist is helpful with blooms fresh and varied.
