Rate and Write a Review The Milwaukee Press Club has amassed an impressive collection of chalkboard autographs since the organization's creation in 1885. What better place to display them than in a comfortable bar? There's history on the walls of the Newsroom Pub. Actual chalk signatures of historic figures such as Teddy Roosevelt, William Jennings Bryant and Carl Sandburg join local heroes Vince Lombardi and Al McGuire on the walls. The Newsroom is made up of a few small rooms with tables and a bar conveniently located just as you walk in the door. The talk around the casual bar is friendly from both those old enough to remember when there was only print media and a younger set. If you ever find yourself among the masses on Water Street and decide you need refuge, head a couple of blocks south to the Newsroom where the atmosphere is much more laid back. And, by the way, you don't need to be a member of the press to come. -- SM
