The sparkling jewel of Milwaukee hotels doesn't come cheap. High-end suites in peak season can run as much as $314 a night, but man, is it worth it! The Pfister is one of the country's oldest hotels, and it has all the dreamy amenities you'd expect -- an indoor pool, room service, a bar and restaurant. The staff is famously friendly, and even the lobby bathrooms go overboard on comfort. If you're looking to time travel, try to get a room on one of the original floors (one through eight) -- they're high-ceilinged and decked out in Victoriana. -- Kerry McLaughlin

I recently had the pleasure of attending a wedding at the Pfister Hotel. It truly was a grand experience. Everywhere you turn you are surrounded by elegance. From the employees to the food to the furnishings...thanks Jo & Joe for a wonderful experience.

This hotel is not haunted. I live in Milw. been there many times. The staff are a bit snobby. Rooms are worth $65. No more. There is a nice view at Blu but the bartenders are no fun. Stiff atmosphere.

One of the best values in America. There is a modern tower but I recommend staying in the older original section. Huge suites!! The Hotel is BEAUTIFUL.
