Swig seeks to bring a new style of dining to the Milwaukee area. The restaurant opened in early 2005 in the former home of Luke's on Water Street, bringing small dish dining to the city. The idea behind small plate dining is simple: Instead of a large main course and maybe an appetizer, Swig offers a selection of dishes that are bigger than appetizers but smaller than a full entree, offering patrons the chance to enjoy a wide selection of menu items. The small dish dining concept encourages people to share their selections with their dinner guests, providing a more intimate dining experience. The surroundings at Swig are elegantly posh to match the exquisite quality of food offered. The lounge attitude that spreads throughout Swig makes it a great nightspot as well. For the bar crowd, Swig specializes in wine or vodka drinks, hosting a wine tasting on the last Monday of every month.

Disappointing
By flower7692 on 06/14/2007
The only thing that I like about this place was the fact that they put a desciption of the wine you are tasting....thats it! The portions of food were extremly small......and wasnt that great tasting either!!!! Service was ok, our waitress seemed like she didnt want to be their (that was a turn off)!!! The atmosphere is the only thing they had going for them! Also wine selection was horrible, I dont like going to a wine bar and try wines that I already buy at home....They need more of a selection....It was such a disappointment!

This is more of a classy bar that should be on Milwaukee St. Appetizers are WONDERFUL ... and drinks are as well.
