If you're from Milwaukee, chances are you've already seen the bumper sticker. It simply reads ''I closed Wolski's.'' Meaning you were there until the bitter end of the night. But this East Side hangout doesn't need clever marketing campaigns to get people to come through their doors -- or to stay there. The laid-back atmosphere is reason enough to pick Wolski's over some of the more trendy establishments located just a block up on bustling Brady Street. Nestled among tiny East Side homes, Wolski's has that neighborhood bar feel. Not much to look at from the outside (just a few neon signs identify the place), the inside features worn wood floors, several tables with barstool seating, various maps and flags from different counties, a popcorn machine and a fully stocked wood bar. Featuring dozens of ice-cold beers (including some brewed in Milwaukee), a few electronic dartboard games and a pool table, you might never want to venture anyplace else.

Wolski's is Home
By dmbond118 on 09/16/2005
Coming from DC I was absolutely terrified that I would not be able to recapture the feeling of belonging at a particular place. I've found a new home in Wolski's Tavern. The dart and the beer are of course extraordinary, however the thing that makes Wolski's home is the people - the ones who pour and the ones who drink. It is the fact that the building itself is like a huge family room, where people come to talk, play, read the paper, and watch TV. On the weekends it resembles your basement when your parents were out of town...nothing but a bunch of people hanging out and having a great time!!!

good bar

It is a good old fashioned tavern, the likes of which you might have seen in the early 1900's in Milwaukee. Great beer on tap and an all around fun time!

We really liked your bar We like it so much that we stayed all night. You know, last call for alcohol. The only complaint is that you ran out of bumper stickers!!!!! please let us know if it is possible to obtain one before were ready to do an all nighter again....yours truly, Gail
