Contemporary and cozy with pumpkin colored walls and whimsical martini prints, this ultra-hip yet unpretentious European eatery is the perfect spot to start or end the night. Known for its delectable fare of appetizers, tortilla wraps, grilled Italian focaccia bread sandwiches, soups (shrimp bisque is a must-try), pastas, pizzas and fondue, it's surely one of the best date spots in the city. The ultra-romantic will want to try one of Vecchio Mondo's three types of fondue: Neufchatel Swiss, Bavarian and dark ambrosia -- especially because the house rule is that the penalty for a man dropping his bread into the fondue is to pay for more wine, while the women's penalty is a kiss. Behind the bar, close to 20 different martinis are shaken or stirred, including the Lucky Martini made with Jameson Irish whiskey and Bailey's Irish Cream. Thirty different types of bottled beer from around the globe are also offered, as is champagne, wine (over 100 bottles on the list) and single malt scotch. Save room for dessert -- theirs are some of the best in the city. -- Rachael Liska

I love this place. The java jive martini is very good. I reccommend the cheese fondu and shrimp angel hair pasta. The atmosphere is very soft and comfortable.
