If there were a competition for hippest street in Milwaukee, the stretch of Milwaukee Street between Wisconsin and Mason would probably win. The single block features some of the city's hottest nightspots (Eve), swankest restaurants (Sake Tumi) and the always-cool Hotel Metro. The latest upscale eatery is Carnevor, which opened in the former home of Frauchiger's Cheese Store & Tavern. This new restaurant is dedicated to serving steak in a cutting-edge establishment. A collaboration between the owners of Sake Tumi, Kenadee's and Cubanitas, Carnevor brings a bit of the aesthetic of its owners' other establishments to the steakhouse concept. Heavily influenced by West Coast restaurants, Carnevor still serves traditional steaks but with toppings, sides and flares inspired by dishes that are more likely to grace Los Angeles tables. The steak's flavor could hold its own against any of Milwaukee's more established steakhouses but with a modern serving style. While Carnevor might not appeal to the fan of a traditional smoky steakhouse, it might be a hit among those long for a cut of meat before a night of hitting Milwaukee Street's clubs.

never have the steaks been so good then at Carnevor the ambience was upbeat and fun and the service was friendly and proffesional. Our server was Teral and she was the best Go for the Japanese Kobe if you can afford the price otherwise the other steaks are great as well. I would definitely reccomend this place to other people
